Heeg and Associates, on behalf of a confidential client, is looking for a deadline-driven
construction superintendent to oversee our construction project and to act as the link between
various project parties. The construction superintendent will lead and manage the on-site
construction team and oversee all work on site. The construction superintendent will be
responsible for orderliness on-site and ensure compliance with safety regulations. You will ensure
quality standards are met, and all equipment and materials are available on-site at all times. You
will liaise with inspection authorities regarding approvals.To ensure success you should complete
projects on time and within budget, and never compromise on quality. Top candidates will be
strong leaders, proactive, and perform well under pressure.
Construction Superintendent Responsibilities:
●Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource
allocation
● Create cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials and other project costs
● Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, other construction management to determine
budget and timeline
● Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers
● Create schedules for workers and subcontractors
● Hire additional subcontractors and assign work accordingly
● Maintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, reporting to management as necessary
● Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines
● Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient
● Leading and managing the on-site construction team.
● Coordinating and overseeing all work on site.
● Attending project delivery meetings.
● Reviewing and becoming familiar with the schedule and budget, and ensuring adherence
to these.
● Ensuring quality standards are met.
● Placing orders for materials, and is responsible for equipment and materials on site.
● Following the project timeline to ensure deadlines are met.
● Monitoring and ensuring on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness.
● Maintaining records for site personnel such as daily field reports, field orders, and RFIs.
● Liaising with inspection authorities regarding approvals.
Requirements
● Qualifications for Construction Superintendent
● Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
● Excellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing clients or officials
● Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, inspectors and vendors to
complete each project on time
● Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages
of the project
Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute his job
duties effectively and efficiently
● Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the varying safety and compliance
regulations of each job location
● Maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and
problems resolved on the job site
● Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperating with
team members in various roles as necessary
● Set an example in keeping the job seat organized and clean, including meeting standards
for waste disposal and environmental protection
● Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors, government officials,
and clients
● Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents.
● Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest
solutions for deficiencies or problems
● Good reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations,
assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
● Basic knowledge of software programs, such as Master Builder, Microsoft Excel, Word,
Outlook, and PowerPoint
● Proficient with scheduling software, and CAE and CAD applications.
● Proficient with taking and uploading digital photographs.
● Ability to stand for several hours at a time and to walk in varying climate conditions and
on uneven ground
● A valid Driver’s license is required
