IT Landes is seeking a Preconstruction Plumbing Estimator who will work with and support the Senior Plumbing & HVAC estimators within the Preconstruction team. This person will assist lead estimators in obtaining the necessary information in order to provide detailed and accurate takeoffs and pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

· Coordination of quotes, take offs, and other information required to determine final bid pricing

· Identify & distribute bid RFI’s when required

· Prepare and set up drawing folders for estimations

· Distribute bid requests to all applicable vendors and subcontractors

· Participating in project walk throughs and preconstruction meetings

· Perform detailed take offs for department needs and material purchasing

· Execute takeoffs from estimating software (Quotesoft)

· Create project proposal details for estimates

· Must complete tasks within timeframes and deadlines

· Assist lead estimators with pricing and quotes

· Perform manual takeoffs and labor estimates

· Perform takeoffs from plan-spec and design/build drawings

· Prepare bid summaries and scopes of work for review

· Review value engineering opportunities on projects

· Participate in project turnover meetings

· Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers regularly

· Communicate with General contractors in bidding process

· Facilitate communication between fields, office and warehouse

· Review of project specifications

· Responsive to both internal and external client needs

· Updating and entry of pricing multipliers in estimating software from venders

· Support engineering teams in developing drawings according to budget

· Assist in review of contracts and scopes of work

· Assist in project handoff with Senior Estimator & Operations Dept.

· Speaking with Vendors on upcoming increases & communicating with the team

· Communicate with any subcontractors needed for plumbing/mechanical portion of project

· Assist to develop project expectations for turnovers and buyouts

· Track all estimates and perform follow-ups to determine outcomes

Qualifications:

• Organized with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to move efficiently between projects when bidding multiple jobs
• Familiar with construction and trade specific installs
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Word, Quotesoft, web navigation…etc.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities
• Mechanical/plumbing estimating experience is a plus
• Must perform work in a safe manner

Additional Skills Required:

· Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed plumbing system takeoffs with precision and efficiency from a variety of construction documents

· Proficient in reviewing and interpreting plumbing specifications, fixture schedules, and piping diagrams to ensure accurate bids

· Clear and professional communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external contacts

· Critical thinking skills to analyze project documentation

· Well-developed organizational habits to maintain accurate records
