Preconstruction Intern

Ely Concrete Construction (“ECC”) is looking for a candidate for our Summer Internship program.  ECC is one of the largest concrete contractors in the Southeast, maintain work throughout the Southeast. This summer long internship will be specific to assisting in our Preconstruction Department but will gain experience and exposure to all areas of concrete construction. At the end of this internship, an opportunity may be present for continued employment. ECC can provide flexibility to students enrolled in summer courses, as the internship is based out of our Cartersville Corporate Headquarters. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Ability to disseminate information to Preconstruction team from General Contractors/Clients invitations to bid.  
• Securing pricing from ECC vendors for projects bidding.
• Creating bid folders, and new bid setup.
• Assist in concrete take-offs on various project types (industrial/warehousing, infrastructure, hospitality & retail, multifamily, Etc. 
• Assist in inputting take-off data and creating estimates. 
• Assist in generating bid proposals for clients. 
• Assisting in maintaining historical cost data bases & other cost tracking documents. 
• Assisting Project Managers / Safety Mangers on an as needed basis to aid in overall project      success. 

Qualifications: 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel. 
• Ability to review construction drawings/specifications. 
• Ability to meet continual deadlines.
• Familiarity with On-Screen Take-Off, Planswift, or Bluebeam is a plus.
