Operational Leadership• Support and provide direction to Project Managers, Superintendents, General Foremen, and other project leadership.
• Maintain regular communication with project teams regarding safety, schedule, manpower, cost, quality, and customer expectations.
• Ensure company policies, procedures, and operational standards are consistently implemented across projects.
• Promote accountability and a results-driven culture throughout project operations.
Project Execution
• Maintain overall visibility of project scope, schedule, budget, manpower, equipment, materials, and major milestones.
• Ensure project teams understand contractual requirements and execution expectations.
• Monitor project progress against established schedules and financial targets.
• Identify operational risks and develop mitigation or recovery strategies with project leadership.
Manpower & Resource Management
• Develop and maintain visibility of manpower requirements across all assigned projects.
• Coordinate manpower allocation based on project priorities, schedules, and available work fronts.
• Coordinate movement of key personnel between projects when required.
• Monitor workforce productivity and ensure labor resources are being effectively utilized.
Equipment & Asset Management
• Maintain visibility of major equipment requirements across projects.
• Coordinate allocation and movement of company-owned and rental equipment.
• Review equipment utilization and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary rental costs.
• Ensure project teams properly forecast equipment requirements.
• Support planning for excavators, loaders, skid steers, forklifts, cranes, compaction equipment, trucks, and other major construction equipment.
• Promote proper care, maintenance, and accountability for company assets.
Financial Performance
• Monitor project financial performance, including revenue, cost, margin, labor performance, equipment costs, and forecasted completion.
• Participate in monthly project financial and operational reviews.
• Monitor labor productivity against estimate and budget expectations.
Schedule Management
• Maintain visibility of major project milestones and contractual completion dates.
• Ensure manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors are aligned with schedule requirements.
• Coordinate resources between projects based on schedule priorities.
Planning & Forecasting
• Maintain visibility of current and upcoming project workload.
• Develop operational forecasts for manpower, equipment, leadership, and other resources.
• Participate in planning for upcoming project mobilizations.
• Identify resource constraints before they impact project execution.
• Coordinate with estimating and preconstruction teams to provide field and operational input on upcoming work.
• Participate in project handoff meetings from estimating/preconstruction to operations.
• Support development of project execution strategies prior to mobilization.
Team Development
• Coach and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and other project leaders.
• Establish clear expectations and provide regular performance feedback.
• Identify high-performing employees and opportunities for advancement.
• Support training and development programs for field and management personnel.
• Promote succession planning for critical operational positions.
