Carthage Hardware, a family-owned and operated full-service hardware store and general contractor, is seeking an experienced General Handyman to join our growing team. Located at our newest location at 1103 E Java Rd, we're expanding our contractor services and need a skilled professional who can handle diverse projects with expertise and pride.
About the Position
We're looking for a versatile handyman with hands-on experience across multiple trades. A focus on finish carpentry and painting would be helpful. You'll work on a variety of projects ranging from small repairs to larger remodeling jobs, serving residential and commercial clients within a 25-mile radius of Carthage.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repairs
- Ability to diagnose problems and provide effective solutions independently
- Experience with remodeling, building maintenance, and repair work
- Knowledge of building codes and permit requirements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions
- Own basic hand and power tools.
Responsibilities
- Complete a wide range of handyman services including repairs, installations, and maintenance
- Perform carpentry work, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, painting, and drywall work
- Assist with deck and pergola construction projects
- Conduct building maintenance for residential and commercial properties
- Provide accurate project estimates and timelines
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Communicate effectively with clients and project managers
- Complete projects on time and within budget
