O&G Industries, Inc., an innovative and diversified construction company based out of Torrington, CT seeks a
Construction
Surveyor
to join our team for heavy civil construction projects. We are a highly respected leader in our field and ranked as one of the top construction firms in the Northeast.
The Surveyor will be responsible for surveying construction layouts, including but not limited to establishing horizontal and vertical control points, baseline, drainage, grading and structure layouts. This role is crucial in supporting site preparation, grading, utility installations, and structural layouts for roads, bridges, highways, and other civil infrastructures.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain control points, benchmarks, and reference markers
Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements
Use GPS, total stations, levels, and other surveying instruments for accurate measurements
Verify and document site conditions before, during, and after construction
Assist in preparing and updating as-built drawings and survey reports
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field crews to ensure proper layout and alignment
Monitor and adjust survey control as construction progresses
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field or commensurable experience
2 years of experience in surveying for heavy civil construction
Proficiency in using GPS, total stations, and survey software (Trimble, AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and grading plans
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and on active construction sites
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Knowledge of local, state, and federal surveying regulations
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
