Job Description
The Project Construction Manager provides the onside leadership, planning, coordination, and direction for project and construction management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule, from initial project identification through construction closeout. May supervise office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, and other assigned staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary contact and liaison for owner and principle partner entities for the contract, design, systems, procedures and related deliverables
Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements
Develops project specific procedures and documentation, and may consult with Owner on design and construction contracts and related A/E systems for the project
Coordinates, directs, and monitors activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
Manages project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures or as required by the client
Conducts project meetings and provides meeting minutes, documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information
Ensures contractors, architects, and engineers will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment
Provides management of project logistics, organization and safety
Ensures project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for turnover to the owner
Performs other duties as required to ensure project success
Obtains, maintains, and manages data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, architects, engineers, and other project-related entities
Manages bid phase services, as may be required by the client
Performs other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project / Construction Manager
Knowledge and application of master planning, A/E solicitation, project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project
controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required
Experience in alternative project delivery methods including Design-Build and Progressive Design-Build is required
Experience with public projects in California
Strong oral and written communication skills are required
Knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices are required
Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related Construction Management systems are preferred
Certified Construction Manager preferred
Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $140,000-$155,000.
