Construction Operations Manager

The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Operations Manager to oversee and manage custom residential construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This leadership role is critical to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met. The Operations Manager will coordinate across field teams, subcontractors, and office staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead home building projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, estimates, and documentation using BuilderTrend and other tools.
- Facilitate project take-offs, pricing, and construction schedules in collaboration with operations and project teams.
- Review and process subcontractor contracts, change orders, and scopes of work.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for field teams.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, company standards, and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-construction site assessments, inspections, and implement quality control measures.
- Monitor job site organization, cleanliness, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct detailed reviews of engineering, architectural, and construction drawings for constructability.
- Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and electrical plans with project managers and estimators.
- Review all construction documents and plans. Work with an in-house architect to make all corrections to plans and documents prior to release.
- Work closely with our salesperson designing and specifying custom homes
- Collaborate with estimating and purchasing teams to ensure accurate budgets and job costs.
- Process and price change orders effectively.
- Award contracts to subcontractors and ensure alignment with scopes and budgets.
- Manage permitting processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate across field teams, subcontractors, office staff, architects, and designers.
- Maintain accurate project records, submittals, and documentation.
- Provide seamless communication between sales estimating, purchasing and field staff.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to project managers, assistant project managers, and field staff.
- Mentor team members to support professional development and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and integrity with colleagues, trade partners, and homeowners.
- Emphasize continuous improvement in planning, budgeting, technology use, and operations.
- Identify potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
- Continuously seek improvements in methods, processes, and quality assurance.
- Stay current on industry trends and recommend innovations to maintain competitiveness.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of proven experience in residential construction which includes practical field experience and a demonstrated record of handling increased levels of responsibility
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, regulations, and permitting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-million-dollar construction projects successfully.
- Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in BuilderTrend, Bluebeam, and other construction management software
- Ability to interpret and review engineering, architectural, and construction documents.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5 years in a management and supervisory position with budget responsibilities
- OSHA 30 Certification, GC License, or other relevant certifications

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 plus bonus.
