Construction Manager
About the Role:
The Construction Manager will oversee and coordinate all aspects of construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires managing site acquisition, interpreting construction drawings, and ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations. The Construction Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams, including subcontractors and suppliers, to execute commercial, residential, and utility construction projects effectively. They will serve as the primary point of contact between clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory agencies to facilitate smooth project progression. Ultimately, the Construction Manager is responsible for driving project success by balancing technical, financial, and operational considerations in a dynamic construction environment across the United States.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial and residential construction projects.
- Proven knowledge of construction management principles, site acquisition processes, and building codes.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project scheduling.
- Familiarity with utility construction and commercial building practices within the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Experience with advanced construction management software and tools.
- Background in sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, multi-site construction projects.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction projects from site acquisition through project closeout.
- Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure accurate implementation.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
- Monitor project budgets, prepare progress reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct site inspections to verify work quality and adherence to design specifications.
- Resolve any issues or delays promptly to minimize impact on project timelines.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory bodies to facilitate approvals and inspections.
- Implement best practices in construction management to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of project activities, changes, and compliance records.

The required skills enable the Construction Manager to effectively plan and execute complex construction projects by applying expertise in construction management and site acquisition.
