Job Description
The Construction Manager will direct and plan enterprise construction projects and oversee their progress from conception to completion in a timely, cost-effective manner while following all compliance and safety regulations. (S)he will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of projects including reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
Essential Duties:
Manages and directs full project lifecycle from initial project planning phases through completion of construction
Collaborates with project stakeholders to create project plans, monitor budget, develop schedules, and staff appropriately
Coordinates and directs construction workers
Oversees all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
Meets contractual conditions of performance
Monitors construction progress against timelines, budgets and schedules
Prepares internal and external reports pertaining to project status
Plans ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
Coordinates project resources; selects proper project tools, materials, and equipment; and tracks inventory
Negotiates terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtains permits and licenses
Analyzes, manages, and mitigates risks
Ensures quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred
10+ years experience in Construction or related field
Proven working experience in construction management
Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
Understanding of all facets of the construction process
Familiarity with construction management software packages
Ability to plan and see the "big picture"
Competent in conflict and crisis management
Excellent time and project management skills
Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which are subject to evening shifts, weekends, and holiday
