Perform a variety of jobs during all phases of construction including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, mechanics, welding, soldering, refrigeration.
- Performs one or more manual tasks on a continuous basis aiding skilled workers wherever required.
- Familiarity with construction tools and equipment, including power tools and hand tools.
- Ensure all work is done in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
- Performs all assigned tasks with demonstrated knowledge of public building and safety codes.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet project deadlines
- Performs other tasks assigned by the Project Manager
- Practices Universal Precautions.
- Demonstrates understanding of age specific needs of patients and their families.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School or four years of technical school or equivalent. Ability to speak, read, write and follow written and oral directions. Five years of semi-skilled experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Walks, stands, stoops, climbs ladders, works on scaffolds. May lift heavy objects related to demolition work (80lb hammers for extended periods of time). Physical stamina and strength to perform heavy labor tasks Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works indoors with occasional outdoor activities. Exposed to dirt, dust and noise. Risk of burns, electrical shocks, minor injuries due to falls, abrasions, etc.
