CONSTRUCTION DISCIPLINE ENGINEER CIVIL
This position requires the following specific requirements:
- Familiar with National codes and standards (i.e. AISC, ACI) and possess the ability to interpret and analyze these requirements to determine equivalent means of achieving compliance when necessary.
- Experienced with excavation, shoring, rigging calculations, and development of ordinary and critical lift packages.
- Experienced with structural steel fabrication and erection
- Experienced with concrete placement
- Knowledge of SRS guides and standards for concrete placement and protective coatings would be a plus
- Capable of climbing/spending extended periods of time in the field.
- Capable of obtaining qualifications to work in radiation/contamination areas.

The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in **(specified discipline) engineering and at least 5 years of practical experience in construction **(specified discipline) field engineering or Associate's degree in (specified discipline) engineering and 5-10 years of practical experience in construction **(specified discipline) engineering or High school diploma and 10+ years of practical experience in construction **(specified discipline) engineering
- Working knowledge of discipline-specific codes and standards
- Previous experience with generating work execution plans (preferably utilizing the Asset Suite work control system)
- Previous experience with generating job hazards analysis
- Previous experience performing material take-off and procurement
- **Specific Discipline = (Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Civil, Instruments, and Controls) as determined by the requestor
Additional Position Requirements:
Work hours:
- A 40-hour workweek is scheduled. SRR construction utilizes a 10 hour per day four days per week schedule.
- A standard workweek is Monday through Thursday at 6:30 am 5:00 pm. However, alternate schedules could be employed.
- Workweek excludes SRR holidays.
Security:
- The candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
- Candidates must possess a valid driver's license
- Personal vehicles operated by candidates must have valid registration
- Personal vehicles operated by the candidate must be insured with proof of insurance within the vehicle
TRAVEL: Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements. Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, as allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
LOCATION: Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina
